Abstract: Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) is the most widely used antidepressant. Existing studies have shown that SSRI impairs osteogenic function, reduces bone mineral density, inhibits bone healing, and may inhibit osseointegration of implants. This article introduces the pharmacological action of SSRI, its effect on skeletal system and its mechanism, and discusses the research status of oral implant failure related to SSRI use.
