Abstract: The lateral window technique for sinus floor elevation is a key approach to address insufficient alveolar bone height in posterior maxillary implant surgery, and research in this area has been continuously advancing. With ongoing improvements in bone window design and the application of digital technology, significant progress has been made in reducing intraoperative complications, minimizing postoperative trauma, enhancing osteogenesis, and increasing implant survival rates. This review summarizes the design aspects of the bone window, including its shape, size, and position, as well as the application of digital technology in the lateral window technique for sinus floor elevation, aiming to provide a reference for bone window selection in this surgical procedure.
