Abstract: Objective: To explore choices of implants and restoration for patients with single tooth loss and root level horizontal bone deficiency due to different reasons. Methods: Employ one-stage conical implant or combined small-diameter implants which match root level horizontal bone deficiency, and adopt flapless microinvasive implantation techniques to perform operations. Then polish abutment and finish immediate restoration for one-stage conical implant, or perform temporary restoration to anterior teeth using aesthetic denture(no restoration to posterior teeth) and permanent restoration 3~5 months after the combined small-diameter planting operation. Results: The immediate restoration using one-stage conical implant brings aesthetics, comfort and confidence to patients. From the aesthetic aspect, the permanent restoration gets the appearance, color and texture of crown closer to natural teeth and make patients more satisfied. Conclusion: Choose conical or small-diameter implants to match patients who suffer root level horizontal bone deficiency due to missing teeth or alveolar bone deficiency, and perform microinvasive operation and aesthetics restoration. This method can simplify the operation process, relieve much of the pain and achieve the aesthetic restoration effect, such that it is greatly recommendable.
